Lazy Days!

Daily Rant

Welcome to my Daily Rant. Hopefully I'll keep this up daily but knowing me it'll be more like a monthly rant!!!

I'm a busy mum of 3 and just thought it would be fun to have my own blog where I can write about my thoughts and frustrations of being a mum! Especially of a teenage daughter.

The 4 Amigos!

So Bad at Blogging

I haven't been on here in over a year and have just typed up at long blog which I didn't save!  So here goes again.

Feeling a bit fed up at the moment, mainly with the teenage daughter.  Felt like a deserved a drink last night after my first full week back at work but oh no, couldn't because I was on taxi duty.  Then I get a call to ask if she could stay.  After saying no and fetching the drunken one I went to bed, only to discover half an hour later that she'd sneaked out!  She wanted to go out tonight but is obviously grounded which means me and hubby can't go out because I don't trust her!  Life was so much easier when they were in cots!

Daughter number 2 is  on a sleepover tonight and son no. 1 is happily playing Xbox, as usual.  Daughter no.1 has done nothing all day.  I'll be so glad when she gets a job.  And that's another reason I'm fed up.  Every time she goes for a job it seems one of her friends beats her to it.  She's handed in loads of CV's but I think it's who you know not what you know and I'm afraid we don't know anyone!!

Had a good holiday in Spain during the summer and enjoying the late summer sun we've been having here.

Am going to try and add a picture but things have changed with this blogging site so not sure how it works.  Still it's only me that sees it so it doesn't really matter!!!

Silence!

It's me again, after yet another long stint of not writing! Yet again we're having trouble with Miss R No.1. She hasn't spoken to me for over a week now and I really don't know why - apart from asking her to do her homework last Tuesday (after which the silence started) which descended into the usual row. Yesterday I sent her a text explaining that the situation couldn't go on and that if it did I would stop paying for her to do ballet and tap. I said that if it still carried on despite that threat I would stop her going to Explorers. That got a reaction - she texted back 'You never said anything about Explorers!!!!' So I genuinely thought she would speak to me last night. No, I was wrong. I really don't know what to do next. She's not even talking to Mr R. and he's getting increasingly annoyed with her as well.

Apart from her things are going ok. Really enjoyed the Royal Wedding last week. Had a few people round to watch it and we did coffee and cakes. Ended up in the pub after lunch which carried on til the evening where it ended drunkenly in the Indian. Miss R No.1 didn't join us!!

Master R. has just had his 12 birthday, so I've probably only got another year of him being nice before he descends into teenagehood! Miss R No.2 is still lovely and has just got Honors in her ballet exam.

Ok that's it for now. Will try and update soon with the silence broken - hopefully.

March Already!

Wow, how time flies.  Not really that amazed at the length of time it's taken me to write my next blog.  The only reason I'm doing it now is following a drunken conversation last night.  We went to Michelle and Andy Gollan's for a meal.  Gaynor, Tony, Jackie and Chris were also there. I mentioned that I love Twitter and from there it came out that I have a blog.  Not sure why because no-one reads it.  However, I quite enjoy the occasional rants I post and it's good to look back on.  I also love Twitter and being able to say things completely randomly and following what other people are saying. Got to go - dinner is ready.

New Year's Resolution!

Well I haven't been very successful at My Daily Rant, have I?  However, now it's 2011 I'm going to try harder.  We've had a good Christmas and New Year.  Mr R's mum came to stay for Christmas - the first one without Mr R Senior.  It was ok apart from when Miss R No.1 wanted to do a toast, got a bit hairy for a minute but we managed to change the subject to stop it becoming a cry fest!  My parents also came to lunch.  We managed to get through several games with lots and lots of explanation each time for Mr R's mum and my mum!  Boxing day was more of the same but with Mr R's brother and his kids.  We then slobbed around until New Year's Eve where we went to a party and managed to stay out until 4.30am.  Not bad for oldies.  The kids stayed home with Mr R's mum staying to look after them.  We're certainly making the most of the new sofa bed at the moment.  Going to take the Christmas trees down tomorrow so that we can be back to normal for Tuesday when we're all back at school/work - apart from Emily who doesn't go back until Wednesday.  Wonder how long it will be before my next blog?  Not that anyone see them so don't know why I bother really - apart from my own amuesment really and it saves me writing a diary.

A Different Day!

Thought I'd better write again today and explain that Claire had the good grace to apologise to James re yesterday's incident. Just as well. So it seems she does have a conscience after all!!!!! She helped out at Brownies tonight so I guess she isn't all bad.

Mr R came back from visiting his Dad tonight, in tears. We've been together @28 years and I don't remember him ever crying. His Dad went into hospital on 20th August and was there until he moved to Westbank Care home last Thursday 23rd September. He has just gone down hill from the moment he went into the hospital and he'll never get home. I just feel so sad about it all. I went to visit on Saturday and just can't get the image of him out of my mind. That is what Mr R saw tonight and it's really hit him and his mum. I really hope his Dad doesn't suffer too long as it's no life just going from a bed to a chair in the same room. It's awful how quickly this has happened.

On a happier note, I met my Primary School friend, Michelle, today for lunch. We had a good catch up and as usual it was as if we'd never been apart.
